All iPhone 16 models have a haptic-touch capable 6.1″ (diagonal) “Super Retina XDR” display (2556×1179, 460 ppi) that occupies nearly the entire front of the device. It has three cameras. On the front — tucked in the “Dynamic Island” — is a “TrueDepth” camera that in addition to supporting Face ID, has a f/1.9 aperture, takes 12 megapixel photos, and shoots 4K video. The rear is equipped with a 4K capable “advanced dual-camera system” with a 48 megapixel “Fusion” camera (f/1.6 aperture) that also supports 12 megapixel 2x Telephoto and 12 megapixel “Ultra Wide” capabilities.

The iPhone 16 uses an aluminum case with flat sides and has a glass front and “color-infused” glass back. The front has a “Ceramic Shield” cover for durability and the back has an integrated “MagSafe” magnetic charging connection. It is splash, water, and dust-resistant to the IP68 standard (maximum depth of 6 meters up to 30 minutes). It has five color options — “Ultramarine” (Blue), Teal, Pink, White, and Black.

Internally, the iPhone 16 is powered by a 4.0 GHz Apple A18 processor with six cores — two performance cores and four efficiency cores — as well as a 5-core GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine. It has 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB, 256 GB, or 512 GB of flash storage. It also supports 802.11be Wi-Fi 7 with 2×2 MIMO, 5G wireless, Bluetooth 5.3, “second generation” Ultra Wideband, NFC for Apple Pay, “Express Cards with power reserve” for compatible transit systems, Thread networking, Crash Detection, Emergency SOS and Roadside Assistance via satellite, a USB-C port, new hardware “Action” and “Camera Control” buttons, and support for Apple Intelligence AI features.

Apple estimates that the iPhone 16 provides “up to” 80 hours of audio playback, 22 hours of video playback, and 18 hours of streamed video playback.
