Atomos Sumo 19 SE HDR Monitor, Recorder, and Switcher
The Sumo 19 SE is a high‑performance 19‑inch HDR monitor equipped with integrated recording and live switching capabilities. It delivers a unified solution combining monitoring, ISO capture, and program output workflows in a rugged field package.
Display & HDR Monitoring
The Sumo 19 SE features a 19″ 1920×1080 capacitive touchscreen LCD (SuperAtom IPS) panel with edge‑lit + quantum dot enhancements. It achieves a brightness rating of 1200 nits ±10%, fully covering the DCI‑P3 color space. The unit supports HDR display modes including HLG and PQ, as well as built‑in log to LUT conversion for accurate viewing of log, RAW, or PQ/HLG content. Users can view highlight and shadow detail even in high ambient light conditions.
Recording & Codec Support
The Sumo 19 SE enables recording of camera output in Apple ProRes RAW up to 6Kp30, plus 4Kp60 and HD (2K) with ProRes/DNxHR 10‑bit 4:2:2 options. For multicam workflows, the unit supports four simultaneous ISO recordings of 1080p60 via SDI, in addition to a program (live switch) output. Cross conversion allows HDMI to SDI and SDI to HDMI mapping.
Video & I/O Connectivity
The unit provides one HDMI 2.0 input and output, plus four BNC 12G‑SDI inputs and one 12G‑SDI loop output. The HDMI and SDI paths support genlock and LTC timecode for synchronized workflows.
Audio & Control
Audio connectivity includes two full‑size XLR inputs with +48V phantom power and gain control, along with on‑screen metering. The Sumo 19 SE can sync embedded HDMI/SDI audio and analog inputs.
Power & Mounting
The device accepts DC 12V to 16.8V (nominal 14.4V) input and has a power draw of 75W. Dual battery input via XLR 4‑pin connectors supports continuous operation with hot‑swapping. The chassis is constructed from aluminum alloy with polycarbonate components. Mounting includes a 100×100 mm VESA pattern, ten ¼‑20 and five 3⁄8‑16 threaded points.
Workflow & Use Cases
This product is ideal for multicam shoots, film sets, live events, and broadcast assist. It streamlines the setup by replacing separate monitor, recorder, and switcher devices with a unified system. The key focus is on live ISO capture and real‑time switching, which reduces post workflow complexity.
Sumo 19 SE gives users a powerful all‑in‑one HDR client monitor and recorder, combining brightness, codec flexibility, and switching in a single field unit. Its design suits both studio and location environments.
